Looking for a script to test io performance

Good morning all;

Looking for a script that would test io performance, looking to establish some io perforamance benchmarks. Were running 11iv3 release 2, 4, and 5.

Thank you for your help!!!

Re: Looking for a script to test io performance

not exactly a script, but

http://www.iozone.org/

is a freely available program that tests disk/io. I've used it to diagnose issues w/ NFS mounts. it can provice a file that you place in excel for graphing

Re: Looking for a script to test io performance

I would second the suggestion to use iozone. I would add though that you should try to arrive at some idea of what your actual I/O patterns look like. A complete benchmark is a combination of the ability to generate load, and knowing what load to generate :)

My favourite is iorate:
ftp://ftp.emc.com/pub/elab/iorate/

It can run nearly on all platforms and very easy to use...
