MIN_PASSWORD_LENGTH=8 is nor working on standard system

Hi Friends,

In my HPUX B.11.31 U ia64 server, I sould like to make my MIN_PASSWORD_LENGTH to 8.
Since it is standard system, we can't set more than 8 character password.
So, i installed LongPassword11i3.
I enabled the long passowrd on /etc/default/security.
NOw i could able to set the password for the user more than 8 characters.

But user is able to login with the first 8 character of the password.

Example :
User Name - Test
Password - password1234567890

In my system user test can able to login with the below cridential.

User name - Test
Password - password

I need the user should type the complete password to login.

Please suggest on this...

This only works trusted or SMSE for shadow passwords.

security(4) says MIN_PASSWORD_LENGTH should work for default security for new passwords but ignored for root.

Have you changed the passwords for each user to be longer?
