Re: ML 110 G5 RAID SOFTWARE REDHAT

Shalom,

First, the built in RAID card on HP wintel servers is controlled and configured from the bios.

You boot at console, look for the smart array prompt and hit the F8 key to configure.

This setup is normally done before OS install and is the best way to go, if you have the P400 or similar hardware RAID card.

This can be done with a full PSP install after OS installation, but can get messy, depending on disk layout.

In case I'm missing something fairly obvious, please provide:
command line your are running
Where you got StorMan.sh
Full error text.

Re: ML 110 G5 RAID SOFTWARE REDHAT

Hello Steven,
the problem ins't how to setup raid : I had the server installed RH5.2 on RAID1 with standard installation.
I'm trying to test the utility software that monitor the raid within OS.
I downloaded the software from Hp, installed but when I run it, I get an error on libXp.so.6 : this is an older X11 package.
I also downloaded and installed it but then the server crash.
I know that the integrated raid is a "software" raid but if Hp support this OS I hope that they tested it.
Also I think that is very important to know if the raid fails!
Thank you
Regars
