MSA500 on RHEL5 and DL380G6

Dear All

i have RHEL5 os installed on EL380 G6 server , i connect MSA500 G2 storage to the server , i see the scsi devices but i do not see the hard disks on it , what should i do , and how could i see them.

Install the array configuration utility and verify if you can see the disks using this tool.

Sometimes, a reboot is needed to detect disks if a rescan of the scsi bus does not do the job.

what fdisk -l shows? and did you installed SCSI adapter and its driver?

we install it and it show nothing rather than local disks, and we did reboot,
[root@SReplica ~]# fdisk -l

Please run hpacucli and execute the following command:

=> ctrl all show config detail

It seems that the system is detecting only the internal controller with 3 disks. And the device that you currently see in the fdisk -l output is an array of the internal controller.

You should check your hardware connections.
