MSL Tape drive issue

We have MSL 6000 series tape library. Few days back drive0 showing no_hw state. Upon replacement of tape drive device files are not showing properly. Server model Rx8640

What OS version is running on the server?

Did you reboot the OS after replacing the tape drive?

OS version is 11.3. As these are production server hence not reboot yet but planning for the same.

Try this:

Post the result!

Any "NO_HW" entry?

The new device will get a new device file, so you need to adjust the device files again - both, legacy and agile.

Did you run any device file related command before (after the drive replacement)?

scsimgr: Successfully validated binding of LUN paths with new LUN.

Original issue was tape drive showing no_hw state, upon all log checks HP backend team suggest tape drive need to replace. After replacing tape drive as per suggestion by HP engineer I ran the above mention commands.

Query: If I run ioscan -fn command after removing of old drive & before insatlling new drive does it make any difference?

In this case I ran it after replacement.
