Mail address

I use the command mail.pl -s "xxxx" -f email@my_domain $USER , then I can receive the mail in my lotus mail server , I am wonder that I do not set the mail address in /etc/passwd ( i also can't find where I indicate my email address ) , why I can receive the mail ? how can it find my email address ? thx

I found that not everyone can receive the mail ..

Hi ivywong,

1. mail.pl -s "xxxx" -f email@my_domain $USER

a. First check the value of $USER by running
#echo $USER

b.Is mail.pl a perl script? If yes then go through it.
