Maximum of /dev/dsk/cXtXdX reached? HP-UX 11.31
I presented 28 LUNs and now the command insf don't add new /dev/dsk/cxtxdx devices, because the maximum c9 is reached. Does a kernel parameter exist for this maximum?
Thanks
Andre

my opinion is to reboot the server if its possible, and check if all special files was created during the boot.

Re: Maximum of /dev/dsk/cXtXdX reached? HP-UX 11.31
In 11.31 /dev/dsk/ limitations and problems has been resolved with /dev/disk/ format, why not to use agile addressing.
How # ioscan -fnNC disk looks like
Also # ioscan -m dsf
Try to Provide more details .

Re: Maximum of /dev/dsk/cXtXdX reached? HP-UX 11.31
the Problem was the following. I presented 2 new LUNs from the EVA4400. HP-UX placed the two LUNs (4 Paths per LUN) in one of the permanent /dev/disk/diskXXX special devices and mean /dev/disk/diskXXX has eight paths for whatever reason.
After a reboot the problem was solved. The second /dev/disk/diskXXX was created. It's seems to be a bug in HP-UX 11.31.
Thanks for all the posts.

Its not a bug. It is what happens if a lun with wwid X first gets assigned to lun id Y, then the lun with wwid X gets deleted and a lun with wwid Z, gets assigned to the same lun id Y.
