Migrate Disk to other server

ServerA (SAP now)
ServerB (new)

I need move the aplication (sap) to other server. the disk configuration for Power Path.

Can move the disk ServerA to ServerB??

What change need apply in ther serverB (new)??

What is the model of both server??
If both itanium or PA risc you can exchange disk but it is not suggested.
Why can't take ignite of first server and restore on second??

- What are components of the application (sap), first you need to study that.
- Then plan on a system where same and compatible OS installed and compatible to version of SAP.

- In a nutshell, you/SAP team need to 1. Install the SAP application on the new server similar to the current one.
- Have the VGs migrated to new server and mount all the FS's. This can be done by presenting the luns of the ServerA to ServerB, and importing the VG's with map file.
- When done,Start and check the application.

In this case we will only export the VG of the SAP application.
I just need to move the VG of the application, not S.O

OPTION 1.

If you have free disk availble , create similar Vg's and copy over it.



OPTION 2: Vgexport and vgimport on new node.

OPTION 3:Pvmove
