Migrating Apache 1.3 configuration files to Apache 2

Hi there --

Is there a tool that can facilitate the migration of Apache 1.3 configuration files to Apache 2? Thanks.

Shalom,

Yes, your eyes, brain and keyboard.

Most of the configuration is compatible.

Named based virtual hosting is not.

This is the typical new syntax.

ServerName www.jobs.abc.com
ServerAlias jobs.abc.com
ServerAlias jobs.pub.abc.com jobs.pub.il.nds.com
DocumentRoot /home/httpd/groups/abc/jobs

Convert your syntax and test it with the httpd command. You need a system running apache 2.0 to do this.

httpd command has an option to check httpd.conf syntax.

It will point out every error and you should be able to work it out yourself or post the output here and get help.

This is also very useful for the things you need to take special attention to.
One long-haired git at your service...
