Migration of nis server from 10.20 to 11.00
Hallo,
I have a master nis server running on 10.20 and we have to migrate it to another server with 11.00.
I don't really know how I can proceed; Can somebody write me where I can find documentation or something useful to proceed?
Thanks in advance
Federico

Re: Migration of nis server from 10.20 to 11.00
Aside from the obvious hard copies and documentation to create your going to have to remake and reconfigure on the 11.00 server.
Differences(?):
"+" syntax. You'll need to check the password map file.
find / -name *.yp > file (* list out *)
# /usr/bin/ypwhich -m (* list of clients *)
PATH environment var (* list out *)
NIS map files (* copy over *)
/etc/nsswitch.conf (* cross reference *)
/etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs (* etc. *)
domainname
This is a good link from a 10.20 to 11.00 NIS migration:
