Mirror UX codeword question

I have a K460 that I am trying to add mirror to. I have obtained the license and the password request form. My 11.0 OS disk and application disks are on a different date then was installed. (11.0 was installed in May '99 and disks I have are Dec. '99) Will I still be able to obtain the correct codeword to install Mirror? Also is the codeword contained on the OS disk or the applications disk?

Re: Mirror UX codeword question

The codeword is sent by hp, but nowadays you probably cannot get it for an unsupported OS like 11.00.

Hope this helps!

Re: Mirror UX codeword question

That little time difference like 6 months should not matter. The codeword requiring applications like mirrorux is located on the application CDs. The installation, core OS cds do not require a codeword as far as I know.

Hope this helps

Re: Mirror UX codeword question

Shalom,

You will have to pull the codeword from paperwork for HP-UX 11.00

If you had proper support and a license, you can enter the codeword or merely pull the .codewords file form a working system.

If not, you are out of luck due to the fact the OS is no longer supported.

Check your support files.

Re: Mirror UX codeword question

Thank you for your help. I am appreciative. I do have another question, as I had mentioned I do have the license for mirror and one of the applications disk #'s do appear when I attempt to get the code via the online site. If I do obtain that code and it is wrong, does anyone know if I can try to obtain the codeword again? (if I find another disk) or do I have to buy another license?

You most certainly can request a codeword for any Application CD/DVD. You purchased the license and that should be on record. New codewords apply to each cycle (update) of the Application media and to request one you need to specify the part number of the media, Hence, no, you do not need to buy another license as long as you have a support contract.
