Mount HP-UX FS on Windows
Mount HP-UX FS on Windows
First let me say, I have NO idea how to go about doing this. I think i have the s/w neccessary.
CIFS-Client A.02.01 CIFS Client
CIFS-Development A.02.01.02 HP CIFS Server Source Code Files
CIFS-Server A.02.01.02 HP CIFS Server (Samba) File and Print Services
The only thing i have done is start SMB.
/opt/samba/bin/startsmb.
I have no idea what to do next.
Can anyone please help me out!
If anyone has step by step instruction or example, that would be GREAT!

Re: Mount HP-UX FS on Windows
You must configure your smb.conf file and then restart the samba service (CIFS).
To find ouyt what to do, you will need to know from the windows admins what the domain name and other requirements are.
Then the system will need to join the domain (net join).
For this threads purpose CIFS=samba. You have CIFS installed, though you may want to update the versions.

Re: Mount HP-UX FS on Windows
This is what i have so far.
Current Config
# Global parameters
[global]
workgroup = DOMAIN_NAME
realm =
netbios name =
server string = Samba Server
security = ADS
syslog = 0
log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
local master = No
read only = No
short preserve case = No
dos filetime resolution = Yes
[exchange]
path = /exchange
read only = Yes
guest ok = Yes
I want to be able to access the folder "exchange" from my desktop.
What else do I need? How can I see that folder on my desktop? Is there an application I need.
