Hello,
I have a NFS server which is running on HP-UX 11.23. I want to mount a filesystem of this server on a HP-UX NFS client which is running on HP-UX 11.11.
When I mount from the 11.11 client the filesystem /tmp from the 11.23 server I'va get the following error messages:
mount -F nfs db1024:/tmp /test
Permission denied
When I do the same on a HP-UX 11.23 client I can mount the filesystem!
Is there something incompatble between 11.11 and 11.23?

Hi
Please check if the 11.11 client has been given the access permissions.
you can see for that in the /etc/exports and check that if you are using the option "access=hotname1:hostname2" etc then the hostname of 11.11 is included in there.
also that the /etc/hosts on the NFS server as well as NFS client 11.11 are properly entered with the name an IP Address of the NFS server and NFS Client.
regards
sujit

Re: Mounting a 11.23 filesystem to a 11.11 client permission denied
Hi Sujit,
Thx. I solved the problem.
11.11 is /etc/host file based! I gues?
