NFS mounted directory for User Home Directory.

Hi,
We have one of the User Home Directory mounted on NFS mount point exported from Other Server.

It takes long time when i login with that user on the system. But if I change the user's home directory to local mount point, then i am able to login without any problem.

The problem occurs only when it is having NFS exported file system from other server as is home directory.

Please let me know any solution available to resolve this problem.

Thanks,
Narendra

How long is that? Are you using ksh and have your HISTFILE there?

Shalom,

HP-UX will not tolerate HISTFILE being hosted on NFS very well. Try relocating it to local disk and see if the problem clears up.
