NFS stale issue on B.11.31.07.01 ONC/NFS

Hi All,

OS-B.11.31
model ia64 hp server BL860c.
This server is our nfs server.Nfs client is also on 11.31. very frequently we are receiving the following msg on client.

vmunix: NFS write error on host xxx: Stale NFS file handle.
vmunix: Synchronous Page I/O error occurred while paging to/from NFS server xxxx
vmunix: file system is /oracle/admin.

but after some time automatically resolved.

# swlist -l product | grep -i nfs
NFS B.11.31.07.01 ONC/NFS; Network-File System,Information
SG-NFS-Tool A.11.31.05 Serviceguard NFS Script Templates

Is there any bug in B.11.31.07.01? is it require to update I have seen in the following thread that there are some performance problem with the updated version 11.31.08 ONCplus.

Unfortunately this is how NFS works. :-( How frequent?
Was anything going on the server at this time? Problems with networking?

Hi,

The NFS service is exposed to common LAN issues that may occur. The quality of your NFS connection depends on the quality of your specific LAN infrastructure. If your area of I/O data is critical, I advise you to evaluate other options presentation of disk space.
