NIS configuration require

Hi All,

Im going to configure NIS server, but before that how can i restrict my users. I have some user id thats need to be login on local servers only and some globally.

Like application user can login on their servers and unix server can all

please help me out

User restrictions have a lot to do with the user environment the user has. PATH, other environment variables control what they can execute and what they can do.

That is specific an answer as I can give to what I see as a vague question.

So, why not put some users into /etc/passwd
on some systems, but not on others?

It would probably make sense to maintain a
single list containing all the users (and UID
values), so that everyone has a unique UID,
and it's the same for a particular user on
all the systems. (All users could exist on
all systems, but some users could be disabled
on some systems.)
