NIS issue
Hi All,
From my one of the nis client I am not getting all users information. I have 2000 users in the passwd map. from the NIS master server if I execute ypcat passwd I am getting all the information. But from this client I am only getting few user information.All other clients do not have this issue. But other maps does not have problem on this machine. I have restarted ypbind, restartd the server. still same problem.
Pleae suggest
Thanks
Mani

Re: NIS issue
To point to the correct NIS server use
ypset -h hostname_of_nismaster_or_nisslave
ypset -h hostname_of_nismaster_or_nisslave

Re: NIS issue
Hello
when you type ypwhich at client what result you will see? it shows you NIS master server name?
can you try to bind this client with NIS master server ip and then restart nis.client as below.
modify /etc/rc.cofnig.d/namesvrs
YPSET_ADDR=""
/sbin/init.d/nis.client stop & start
let me know result.
