Dear Sir;
I have installed nagios-plugins-1.4.13 and NRPE-2.12 on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.3.
When i execute the following command as root: /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H localhost -c check_users
i get the following error on the terminal:
NRPE: Unable to read output
When i examine /var/log/message file i found this error message:
Jan 21 15:24:05 sv-t-house-nat xinetd[15912]: START: nrpe pid=21606 from=127.0.0.1 Jan 21 15:24:05 sv-t-house-nat kernel: check_users[21608]: segfault at 00000000b1362ea8 rip 0000000000402c17 rsp 00000000b1362e84 error 4 Jan 21 15:24:05 sv-t-house-nat xinetd[15912]: EXIT: nrpe status=0 pid=21606 duration=0(sec)
Could you please tell me how to solve this problem?
Best Regards..

Shalom,
This looks like bad software to me. Segment fault usually comes from software that has problems not caught in quality assurrance.
I'd look for different versions of either the nagios plugins or NPRE
