Re: Need to increase mirrored lvol
Alll cn be done online and without ny diruption as u already said that u have ONlineJFS installed.
yes u need to check that enoughh space is there in ur VG that u can increase the size to teh mirrired LVs.
#vgdisplay -v vg00 | more
note
1)the PE Size and Free PE and multiply those u can get the Free Space in MB in the VG.
2)Remember that in the case of mirrored LV if u see that an LV sizer is 2048 MB that means this is occupying actually 4096 MB space in the VG.
3)the space available in the VG should also be acccording to the allocation ploicies of the existinng LVs.
Rest is the same as the command for extending any other LV.
#lvextend -L 2048 /dev/vg00/lvol1 (the LV Name)
#fsadm -b 2048m /stand ( this is the Mount point for the LV /dev/vg00/lvol1)

Re: Need to increase mirrored lvol
The Correct synayx for the fsadm shall be like thus
#fsadm -b 2048M /stand
or
#fsadm -b 2097152 /stand
That is i f we want to increase the fileystem for the LV /dev/vg00/lvol2 to 2048 MB
