Network Card not detecting RHEL 5.3 64bit on BL460c G7

Hi,

When I installed RHEL 5.3 64bit on BL460c G7, Network Interface / ethernet cards (eth0/eth1) are not detecting.

Can any body suggest, where can I find the driver software?

Appreciate your valuable response.

Regards,

Rajesh SB

The HP Proliant RHEL Technical Exceptions Matrix indicates that RHEL 5.5 is the minimum officially supported RHEL version for BL460c G7:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/supportmatrix/rhel/exceptions/rhel-exceptions.html

According to RHEL 5.5 Release Notes, the 5.5 release includes updates to various NIC drivers:

http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/html/5.5_Release_Notes/ar01s04.html

Apparently one of these updates is essential to support G7 blades.

In general, you'll find all the available drivers to your HP Proliant hardware by the following procedure:

  1. go to http://www.hp.com/go/support
  2. select "Drivers & software", then type in your model (e.g. "BL460c G7")
  3. if the model you typed is ambiguous, choose the correct model among listed matches (this will be skipped automatically if there is no ambiguity)
  4. choose your operating system (e.g. "RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 x86-64")

You should the see a list of downloadables for your hardware + OS combination.
