New NIS Users unable to login in client machine
New NIS Users are unable to login in client machines.
Posting the client commands result.
bash-3.00# hostname
s4
bash-3.00# domainname
sima
bash-3.00# ypwhich
s10
bash-3.00# ypcat -k passwd |grep halinfo1
halinfo1 halinfo1:396KrdXsSOb4I:250:100::/homesn/halinfotech1:/usr/bin/sh
bash-3.00# ypmatch halinfo1 passwd.byname
halinfo1:396KrdXsSOb4I:250:100::/homesn/halinfotech1:/usr/bin/sh
bash-3.00# yppoll -h s10 -d sima passwd.byname
Domain sima is supported.
Map passwd.byname has order number 1265272765.
The master server is s10.

My nis server os is SUN solaris 10. and clients are HP ux B11.11 and solaris 10.

If i give Su NISUSER in NIS client iam getting
# invalid UID

Hi,
I assume you've done a ypmake at the NIS server.
Have you checked the UID?
Maybe the UID of the server is already used at the client?
