Not able to boot the secondary VPAR from my ignite server

Hello,

We are having issue in booting (igniting) the secondary VPAR from Primary.

When I do vparboot -p {vpar-name} -I and then I pick the lan address abd get the PXE error

Any Idea or suggestion.

Not so much details (OS/vPars version etc ...) given here, but have a look at vparsdbprofile.

Please make it clear u want to boot ur vpar from secondary disk??

or from the ignite server...

Solution to both...
1)To boot ur vpar from secondary disk u hav to give cmd
#vparboot -p vpar-name -lq

2)To boot ur vpar from ignite server
#vparboot -p vpar-name -l Ignite_server
this is option with PARISC only
3)If u want to boot and install vpar thru
Ignite tape
#vparboot -p vpar-name -B TAPE

Hope this solves ur issues

My issue is fixed but just for the reply that you gave me is much appreciated.

One quick question about VPARS.

we have 2 VPARS in on NPAR and when primary VPAR1 is up then I can'yt drop the VPAR in single user or amy other mode.

Also, when I boot from the VPAR that is UP I can even stop the system to go into RFI shell. Do you guys have the same issue?

You can start the vpar by using the "-i ..." switch, but you cannot go into EFI shell.
