Re: OS not booting
What application do you have that gets started automatically during bootup that might issues this message? You're probably going to have to boot up in single user mode to get a look at things.
Try grepping your startup scripts to see what it might be - grep "Runner" /sbin/init.d/*
Then look through /etc/rc.log (or /etc/rc.log.old) to see if you can find a problem with this application. If you can fix that problem, you'll probably fix your system.

Re: OS not booting
sometimes, when the server have long uptime,
it could be happen, that hw will stuck, without
any reason, them restart, and the system hase
problem, for example sam HW part is corrupted
or not fully functional.
mikap
try to boot to single user mode,
backup your OLDsyslog.log, check the rc.log*
as pete mentioned, check HW problems.

Re: OS not booting
Did you tried with single user ?
Is it booting succesfully in single user if yes the boot your machine into single user then try to come into multiuser.
after booting in single user give this command to multiuser

Re: OS not booting
I think runner is part of ISEE software. Try to disable ISEE client at startup. I think there was an option to disable runner at startup in the ISEE configuration file.
