Oracle ASM and Powerpath on HP-UX
Hi,
I am using powerpath on my HP-UX box for multipathing and using one of the native paths for ASM (say c1t0d1).
My question is, In case if I wish to move disks from different FA port or make them visible on different path for some reason the device c1t0d1 will not exist or will change the identity to c3t0d1on reboot and if powerpath is reconfigured by using powermt check and powermt config, it will clear the entried for old devic c1t0d1.
In this case ASM which is already configured to use c1t0d1 will fail since the device doesnot exist any more and powerpath will not do failover/loadbalance.
How to deal with this situation?
Thanks in advance for the response.
Regards,
Ramesh.

Re: Oracle ASM and Powerpath on HP-UX
Shalom,
ASM will have to be given control of the new disk.
You may need to bring down the Oracle ASM server because it is not able to cope with this migration and stay hot.
