PAX: Not such device or address

Hi,

I have a new MSL4048 G3 with two drives LTO5 FC connected to SAN. I have the zonning with my server, HP rx6600.

If I execute ioscan command I see hw address correctly. I can load and unload tapes to drives.

The problem is when I execute pax command for example, and I try to write in tape loaded.

I obtain the error:

No such device or address.

Thanks,

Jesus

Re: PAX: Not such device or address

Could you please post the iosscan and your command line?

If there is no tape in drive, you get exactly this message (write to the wrong drive?).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: PAX: Not such device or address

I have to insert two cartridges in the two drives.

In a one drive (/dev/rtape/tape5_BESTnb) I obtain this error:

pax: /dev/rtape/tape5_BESTnb No such device or address

and If I execute the command in the other drive (/dev/rtape/tape6_BESTnb) I obtain:

pax: /dev/rtape/tape6_BESTnb I/O error

Thanks
