PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

How can I determine if my rx2660 or my rx6600 HP systems (running 11.23) have the above mentioned backplane?

Is there a command to show this?

Thanks

Re: PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

Can you send an

# ioscan -fn

of both systems?

The hardware path for the slots are different.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

The rx6600 has either
8 pci-x slots
or
4 pci-x slots and 4 pci-e slots.

Your system has 8 pci-x slots, no pci-e.

The rx2660 can either have a "pure" pci-x riser, "pure" pci-e or a mix of both.

Hope this helps!

Re: PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

Same for the second system.

Do a

# ioscan -fndlba

You can also do a

# olrad -q

and you get all information about the slots.

PCI-e output would look like this (superdome sx2000):

# olrad -q
...
                     PCI-Express Slots Information
                     -----------------------------
                                                                  Driver(s)
                                                                  Capable
Slot     Path              Link Max   Max   Link  Pwr  Occu Susp  OLAR OLD  Mode
                           Spd  Link  Link  Width
                                Spd   Width
0-0-1-2  2/0/2/0/0/0       2.5  2.5   x8    x8    On   Yes  No    Yes  Yes  PCIe
0-0-1-3  2/0/4/0/0/0       2.5  2.5   x8    x8    On   Yes  No    Yes  Yes  PCIe
0-0-1-4  2/0/5/0/0/0       2.5  2.5   x8    x8    On   Yes  No    Yes  Yes  PCIe

Hope this helps!

Re: PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

The HPUX 11iv3 support matrix states that rx6600 with a PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane is not supported.

So I guess my configuration isn't supported?

Re: PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Backplane?

I assume you have an older version of this matrix.

PCI-e was not supported on the first release in february 2007, but now it is.

You don't have pci-e anyway.

Hope this helps!
