Patch install Failure
Hi,
While trying to install a bundle of patches on HPUX v11.11 , I obtain an error that i can resolve myself. This error is about kernel compilation. You'll find the output of swinstall just below.

"/stand/system.prev"
NOTE: Dynamic tunable values (if applicable) have been added to
"/stand/system".
NOTE: The template file has been extracted from "/stand/vmunix"
It has been placed in "/stand/system" where it will be used
to build a new kernel.
* Installing fileset "PHKL_35809.CORE2-KRN,r=1.0" (1 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHKL_35809.KERN2-RUN,r=1.0" (2 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHKL_35810.CORE2-KRN,r=1.0" (3 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.CORE-ENG-A-MAN,r=1.0" (4 of
55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.KEY-CORE,r=1.0" (5 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-64ALIB,r=1.0" (6 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-64SLIB,r=1.0" (7 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-CLIENT,r=1.0" (8 of 55).
* File "/usr/lib/netsvc/fs/automount/automount" could not be
removed. It was renamed and added to the cleanup file
"/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-CORE,r=1.0" (9 of 55).
* File "/usr/sbin/rpc.lockd" could not be removed. It was
renamed and added to the cleanup file
"/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* File "/usr/sbin/rpc.statd" could not be removed. It was
renamed and added to the cleanup file
"/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* File "/usr/sbin/rpcbind" could not be removed. It was renamed
and added to the cleanup file "/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-ENG-A-MAN,r=1.0" (10 of
55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-KRN,r=1.0" (11 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-PRG,r=1.0" (12 of 55).
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-SERVER,r=1.0" (13 of 55).
* File "/usr/sbin/nfsd" could not be removed. It was renamed and
added to the cleanup file "/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* File "/usr/sbin/rpc.mountd" could not be removed. It was
renamed and added to the cleanup file
"/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* Installing fileset "PHNE_37568.NFS-SHLIBS,r=1.0" (14 of 55).
* File "/usr/lib/libnsl.1" could not be removed. It was renamed
and added to the cleanup file "/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".
* File "/usr/lib/libnss_nis.1" could not be removed. It was
renamed and added to the cleanup file
"/var/adm/sw/cleanupfile".

ERROR: Could not move the current kernel function set directory
from "/stand/dlkm" to

kmcpux failure.
ERROR: The command "/usr/sbin/mk_kernel", which is used to rebuild
the kernel, has failed. Because kernel-related filesets were
installed, this command must be executed by "swinstall",
without failures, before the load can continue. Check the
above output for details about the failure.
NOTE: The Install Phase has suspended. Check the above output for
reasons.

Please check first if you have enough space available in /stand.

There is enough space on /stand.
Swinstall check, during the Analyzing, the space necessary to install the patches :

NOTE: The used disk space on filesystem "/stand" is estimated to
increase by 5949 Kbytes.
This will leave 180534 Kbytes of available user disk space
after the installation.

But I'm not sure if it calculates the space needed for the complete kernel backup ... anyway, I think you may have enough space.
