Patching Auto Port Aggregation J4240AA B.11.23.10

I have a machine with Auto Port Aggregation at B.11.23.10. I'm trying to upgrade it to the most recent version with PHNE_36403, the most recent APA patch. So I get it in a bundle with a few prerequisites and when I try to install it I get this:

The specification for this base fileset is "HP-APA-RUN.APA-RUN,fr=B.11.23.05,v=HP". Since there is no fileset on the target or selected from the source which matches this specification, fileset "PHNE_36403.APA-RUN,r=1.0" will be excluded.

It seems like it is looking for 11.23.05 when I already have 11.23.10 and it refuses to upgrade based on that. Is that correct? It does it for the other packages in J4240AA as well, HP-APA-KRN.APA-KRN,fr=B.11.23.05,v=HP and so on.

Yes, it seems like it is refusing to downgrade you.
But in PHNE_36403 I see:
HP-APA-RUN.APA-RUN,fr=B.11.23.10,fa=HP-UX_B.11.23_IA,v=HP

So what do you have on your system:
swlist -l fileset -a software_spec HP-APA-RUN.APA-RUN

Hmm, this seems fine. In my kludgey experiment on 11.11 with an alternate root I didn't have problems.
Are you using "-x patch_match_target=true"?

The patch lists multiple ancestors, including both B.11.23.10 & B.11.23.05.
Do you have any this SD patch for swinstall,
PHCO_38149?
