If you run Iostat and Sar before and after you will get a good Idea of what is happening. Hp provides CSVPNG and Tlviz as a great set of tools for anaylizing a system.
The are conversion tools available for the data.

I'll second tlviz. I even have a utility to convert from collectl format to tlviz.

I wrote sar iostat and ps to tlviz and csvpng and I use the most options I can on the collect. One system I had 196 disks generated over 2000 graphs for IOSTAT.
