Re: Ping Problem

Shalom,

Windows firewall blocks ping by default.

If thats not the case check the network hardware and firewalls.

Re: Ping Problem

hi,
On at the command prompt, run:
ipconfig /all

verify the ip addresses of each other machine that you want to ping.

There are some rules that you should obey for ping operations to run properly.

First, the ip address should be either on the same network or should be routable by the default gateway...

please check

kind regards

Re: Ping Problem

Shalom,

Windows firewall is by default configured to permit the windows system to ping but prevent all others from pinging it. The default also blocks network services like shared drives and printing.

Re: Ping Problem

You're sure of that machines IP config?? Sounds to me like a reverse route/DNS issue. Have you validated that the DNS entry for that server is correct (ALL records)?

This does not sound like it belongs in the Linux forum....
