SolutionFor the future you should either run the backup process on the console, local or remote (if you get disconnected from a remote console the session is still on the console device when you connect back to the console). Also you could run it vi cron (no diusconnects) but utilize the "chvol" feature for changing tapes.

If the fback up process is working in the back ground you should first kill that process by using kill -9 command.Otherwise it will create log file.
Try to ogin through the system console instead of remot console and try with fbackup .Then check still the same problem is there. i thing it is due to remot console n/w issue.
