Predictive failure not rebuilding

Hi All,

Few days ago we had power off and power on the server. Since the power on, a disk status have changed to Predictive Failure. Normally when we replace a disk with Predictive Failure it will rebuild itself. It didn't happen this time. The disk led is green, anyone got any ideas?

Re: Predictive failure not rebuilding

Shalom,

Look at the front of the server. One of the disks in the array has probably got a yellow light. It is replacement time.

If not, it may be the disk controller and that will need to get looked at right away.

Re: Predictive failure not rebuilding

Ah sorry, I should have been more clear. The disk led is still green even after a disk replacement.

I'll probably need to take a look at the controller. Is there anyway to check the health of the controller?

hplog and hpasmcli both don't show anything weird.

Re: Predictive failure not rebuilding

hi,

you could contact HP, it could be some bug in the firmware ( disk / raid controller )
