Problem with vgimport on alternate node

I only extended the fs in vgP01_04 on primary node, as free extents were available,

and then created the vg map file and then copied to alternate node.

while importing it on alternate node i got the following error:

htrxc1:/root> vgimport -v -s -m /tmp/vgP01_04.map vgP01_04
Beginning the import process on Volume Group "vgP01_04".
Couldn't access the list of physical volumes
for volume group "/dev/vgP01_04".

Please help me to resolve this out.

Thankx in advance.

Re: Problem with vgimport on alternate node

Hi Arun,

If ur extending the file system then no need to do the the vgimport on alternate node.

Re: Problem with vgimport on alternate node

Hi,

first thing: do you see the shared disk also on the second node?
Check by ioscan (consider that it could not be seen with the same path along both systems).

HTH.

Re: Problem with vgimport on alternate node

Hi Arun,

you have to do the vgimport in the following scenario adding/removing viceversa
1) if u are adding the disk in vg
2) if u are craeting the new LV
3) if u r adding new vg
