Problems installing CIFS Server and LDAP-UX
again big problems for me but I think there will be an easy solution.
We have a small CAD environment, running on 5 C-Class workstations and on a pr5470 server with HP-UX11iv1.
To share our CAD drawings with the Windows side, we have installed CIFS Server A.01.10. This was running very well up to now, when we changed to Win Server 2008.
I tried to install the latest CIFS Server, but swinstall prevent the installation because of errors.
After reading the CIFS documents, I installed the missing Kerberos v5 C13.5.06, and then I stopped to install LDAP-UX, because this seems to be a difficult thing and not only a patch.
Is it true, that installing LDAP-UX we have to make big changes in the environment? We have only 7 users and I do not want to get in trouble when changing the Installation deeply.
Is it possible to get the new CIFS Server running without LDAP?
Thank you an best regards
Ruediger

Just do what the release notes say about installation.

Re: Problems installing CIFS Server and LDAP-UX
This is only what its name says: LDAP Integration product. It's not LDAP, you don't need to configure LDAP to the machine.
