Problems removing SysFaultMgmt

I need to swremove SysFaultMgmt and reinstall but I get an error referencing SFM-Core files.

ERROR: The dependencies for fileset
"SFM-CORE.MISC_COREIA,l=/,r=C.06.00.07" cannot be resolved
(see previous lines).
You must resolve the above dependencies before operating on
this fileset or change the "enforce_dependencies" option to
"false".
NOTE: Could not remove the bundle "SysFaultMgmt,l=/,r=C.06.00.07.01"
because not all of its filesets could be removed.

Should I uncheck the "enforce_dependencies" option so the swremove will work? I've attached the swjob file.

Thanks

Re: Problems removing SysFaultMgmt

According to your logs, only 5 of the 30 filesets of the SFM bundle were left behind. 25 filesets were removed. Why did you need to re-install SFM? If you know that the problem with SFM was related to the 25 filesets that were removed you can leave those filesets in and reinstall the bundle. Only the 25 fileset will be re-installed. You MUST re-install the same version.

If the problem you are trying to fix involves the 5 filesets left behind, you have to force remove them by unchecking the enforce_dependencies option and then re-install the whole SFM bundle.

Re: Problems removing SysFaultMgmt

Thanks. None of the examples in the SFM admin guide for removing the software talk about any problems you might have during the removal process. Just paranoia on my part.

Re: Problems removing SysFaultMgmt

you need to stop cimserver before uninstalling SFM.

#cimserver -s

Is this documented somewhere? Why not just use swinstall of the new version?

Re: Problems removing SysFaultMgmt

If you need to reinstall SFM, try to
swinstall -x reinstall=true -s /path/sfm.depot SysFaultMgmt
