Proliant DL385 G6 and ubuntu/debian installer

Hello,

I have a Proliant DL385 G6 with two SATA disks.

I've tried to install Ubuntu 9.10 server amd64 and Debian 5.04 amd64 but it was no possible.

Both installers recognize the Hard disks successfully, but when I finish the partitions and system starts the 'Partition formatting' screen, this process is paused at 33%... always, configuring software raid, trying with a single disk, using all types and sizes of partitions... when installer starts formatting the partition gets frozen.

I tried executing the installer with 'noapic' and 'noapci'... same result unfortunately.

If you have an idea, I'll be happy :-)

Thanks in advance!

If the disks/partitions are large, the formatting takes some time. You could also try looking into the consoles (Alt-Ctrl-F[1-7]) for errors and other info.
