RA 3000 RAID with Alpha ES40.

I have already RA 3000 raid controller,with six 9.2 gb hard disk they are already in raid 5 (virtual disk 1). now i have six 36 gb hdd and when i creating virtual (disk 2)with RAID 5 .RA 3000 conecting through serial port with hs222..console s/w.

i am geting error..like this (below)

'SUB:SUB:008:002.no such controller'

System Details.
Alpha ES 40 Server,Unix 5.1A,ADVFS.

pl anyone help me .

Hi,

Is that error coming up on the HSZ22 console or on the ES40 ?

If the former, maybe your system is configured for dual redundancy and the second controller has died...

Please give more details.
How did you connect to HSZ22? Through two serial ports?
How do the controller lights look like?
Do you have hszterm installed on TRU64?

this error comes when i create virtual disk on HSZ22, two raid box is connected with a cable. an it has only one controller.i connect with only one serial port.

but I still have no enough details.
So you have just one controller. Strange!
What version of hsz console are you using?
Are you able to see all disks in storage?
Did this storage have two controllers when first installed?
