RAID 5 on ML 370 G5
Hello,
After installing operating system Debian 5.0 lenny, I receive an error message "Disk /dev/cciss/c0d1 doesn't contain a valid partition table"
fdisk -l
Disk /dev/cciss/c0d0: 73.3 GB, 73372631040 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 8920 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0003d6b6
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/cciss/c0d0p1 * 1 8590 68999143+ 83 Linux
/dev/cciss/c0d0p2 8591 8920 2650725 5 Extended
/dev/cciss/c0d0p5 8591 8920 2650693+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
Disk /dev/cciss/c0d1: 440.3 GB, 440345714688 bytes
255 heads, 32 sectors/track, 105398 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 8160 * 512 = 4177920 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000
Disk /dev/cciss/c0d1 doesn't contain a valid partition table
What are the options regarding this?

Re: RAID 5 on ML 370 G5
It appears you've created two logical drives. The first is 73gb, and that looks like where Debian installed /dev/cciss/c0d0
c0d0 translates to controller zero disk zero
p1 p2 and p5 are partition numbers. Linux is installed on partition 1 and the swap space is on partition 5. You need to run fdisk against /dev/cciss/c0d1 the 2nd logical drive which is 440 GB and create a partition. Next make a file system, then create a mount point and mount the file system. edit /etc/fstab with the new file system information.
