RH Linux OS Img backup question?

Hi

I wanna do our linux server's "OS" img backup like HP-UX Ignite-UX make_net|tape_recovery. If we don't have Ignite RH linux software at all, how to do the img backup, using which tools or commands? Currently, Our RH linux servers "Data" backup using HP Data Protector.

Any answers will be very appreciate!!!
