Hi all, I want to install Linux on DL380G5 server, as I know this system is certified for RHEL, I would like to know what is the best version to get the best performance.
My system have:
2 x Quad core Intel 5420
8 GB RAM
1 backup system HP LTO 448.

The best versions are normally the latest versions. They have the best hardware support and bug fixes.

Solution
Be aware of the memory size, if you install the 32bit version, it will use only first 4GB of memory, and need the PAE kernel version to use the rest, but this PAE version consume performance.
So consider to use 64bit RHEL version in case the application support 64bit, otherwise, stuck with the 32bit.
