Hi,

I have one issue on HP-UX box.

RealMemoryUsedPercent_UX_P_C[(Used_Real_Mem_Pct>90.0 ) (Used_Real_Mem_Pct=90.3 )], Tally: 0, OwnerUID: 45523, OutageType: 0

What could be the issue ?

This is an Alert.

Please let me know how to investigate on this issue.

Well, it's telling you that you have used 90.3 % of your RAM.

Check your memory usage to see if that is accurate.

I need the command in HP-UX to check the memory usage.

I am Solaris admin, but also workingon HP-UX tickets.

So, need help from this forum.

Using most of your memory in Solaris, Linux or HP-UX is generally a good thing since RAM is expensive. This alert is based on an arbitrary limit set in a monitoring program and indicates nothing about any problem. Now if the normal situation for this server is memory usage less than 50%, then some process(es) are asking for more RAM or someone has started more processes which consume more RAM. Again, nothing is wrong unless these processes are unexpected. To sort all the processes by RAM usage:

UNIX95=1 ps -e -o vsz,pid,ppid,args | sort -rn | head -20

 The processes using the most RAM are listed at the top. Column 1 = memory usage in Kbytes, followed by PID and PPID.
