Re: Reboot !!

Shalom,

You don't need to back any files up for a simple reboot.

If you are rebooting because you changed stuff, you want to run an Ignite make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery BEFORE your changes to insure you can back out.

Re: Reboot !!

take below files for reference.
1./etc/mnttab
2./var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog
3./etc/rc.log.old
take the output of below command for reference.
1.bdf >>bdf_ref
2.ioscan -fn >>ioscan_ref
3.netstat -in >>netstat_in.ref
4.netstat -rn >>netstat_rn.ref
5.dmesg >>dmesg_ref
6.ps -ef >>ps_ref
You can refer these outputs incase of any problem after system come up

Re: Reboot !!

This is just for precaution however what are the files you need to back up is depends on the activity which you did on the server

Re: Reboot !!

You should already be backing up your server on a regular basis. You should be using Ignite/UX for your VG00 data and some other backup utility for all other data on the system.

If all this is in place, there should be no need for a special backup just because you are rebooting the server.
