Redundant Power Supply Failure
Hi. I have an Alpha 1200 that is broadcasting a message 'Redundant Power Supply Failure' which is preventing users accessing the legacy app running on the server.
The original UPS which connected to the server failed 2 weeks ago. The server re-booted (hard shutdown) a number of times before I was able to disconnect. The server was then connected to a new UPS and booted OK.
Question: Can I suppress the message and run with a single PSU?
Kind Regards,
Phil.

Re: Redundant Power Supply Failure
Hi,
If I remember correctly then the AS1200 *needs* two working PSU's to function correctly. If only one is working but the system is powered up when one of the PSU's fail then it will probably stay up. If you power off the system then it *may* not power up fully depending on the h/w config.
You should replace the failed PSU ASAP.
Can you cancel the warning - not as far as I know... (unless you replace the failed PSU!!)

Re: Redundant Power Supply Failure
Thanks Mark. I powered it down, gave it a clean and hey presto all working again.

Phil.
