Regarding booting from old kernel

How we can boot the system from old kernel if we forget the the name of kernel.

Hi Bhushi,

1.boot the system first.
2.then interupt the boot process.
3.in pdc prompt, PDC>boot pri isl
4.in ISL proompt, ISL>hpux ll /stand
5.If you give like that, it will show the kernal details which is default and other kernal also....then you can find the old kernal and you can boot from old.
6.ISL>hpux /stand/vmunix.old(oldkernel)

Shalom,

So boot the box on its regular kernel or on OS media,

cd /stand
ls -lrt

You'll find the name of your kernel.

Then you write it down or something.
