Replaced a disk, broke boot up
there were two disks on the system, and it installed onto the second disk.
Yesterday as i was trying to add the first disk to the VG, it came back telling me i had block errors.
HP replaced the disk today, which i put in. I decided to reboot the system so i could work from a fresh start. On reboot, When it should autoboot HPUX, instead it drops to a Shell> prompt
I dont know a whole lot about the EFI shell so i took out the disk0 again, and still no joy. I had taken out the disk prior to recieving the new one, and everything was working fine, everything was available on the system.
In the boot menu, I have :
HP-UX Primary Boot: 0/1/1/0.0x1.0x0
How do i point this at the disk1 to boot?
this is kind of urgent, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Replaced a disk, broke boot up
Device mapping table
blk0 : Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)
blk1 : Acpi(HWP0002,100)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun1,Lun0)
Shell:\>blk1:
blk1:\> ls
ls: Cannot open current directory - No mapping
Exit status code: No mapping
Should there be "/HD" information at the end of the device mapping for the disk?
(document is very helpful too, thanks)

Looks like the mapping cant see any filesystems. Is there any way around this or do i have to go and reinstall from scratch?

Re: Replaced a disk, broke boot up
I need to get this machine back running by the morning, but just being able to get config files etc would greatly reduce the amount of time required on a rebuild.

Re: Replaced a disk, broke boot up
So doeas anyone have any suggestions on how to get at the disk contents? I have reinstalled HPUX 11i V3 and just need some config files and such.
I also have a spare rx2620 that i could put the disk into if someone has suggestions on how to make it bootable again.
