Restoring Complex disk/volume/file system config after DST testing

Good Morning,

Essentials:
DS20 running Tru64 5.1B-3 (PK4)

In the past I've stored and restored systems with btcreate on a simple configuration with no problem. It's a great tool.

In the upcoming test for DST we have to move time ahead, and therefore we must do a full restore of all file systems after testing is complete.

The DS20 utilizes a complex/complicated config:
-3 SWXCR controllers with RAID 1 and 5 sets

-LSM to create RAID 1 mirrors for /, /usr and /var on partitions on identically partitioned disks on separate shelves

-LSM to create RAID 1 mirrors for swapvols

-ADVFS to span two controllers' RAID 5 sets to create 2 separate file systems

Can btcreate:
-Save this complex LSM and ADVFS configuration
-Restore successfully using the simple
>>> b -fl "nc" mkaxxx ( or whatever)
as I have done with the simple config.

As a less optimal choice I could break the LSM RAIDs, execute btcreate to backup the ADVFS file systems, test, and restore and then recreate the LSM RAIDs by hand.

Best choice, of course, is to find another, simpler test bed.

Thank-you for your help. ,,, Joe S.

I've dodged this bullet.

After explaining the complications of using this system and its recovery, another test bed has been chosen.

The question remains about a "cold iron" disaster recovery if needed, but that's a horse of another color.

Thanks. ,,, Joe S.
