Hey there guru's. Is there an easy remedy for this problem? I've googled on this quite a bit, and I haven't seen anything definitive on 11.11i. Can the root filesystem being extended without the use of a boot tape? I think that this system is choking in other ways because of this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff.

I likee gogle a bunch, but for hpux questions maybe your first try should be this forum with its search, and notably its 'advanced search' (= "more options")
This question was raised dozens of times, and even in the last two days:

Re: Root filesystem 100% full
No it can't be easily extended, which is why nothing should be added directly to root other than mount points to other file systems that can.

Re: Root filesystem 100% full
Not without a boot I'm afraid. The idea of / is to remain stagnant. There is rarely a need to make changes to it. If it fills up, it probably a mistaken backup or an archive placed somewhere accidently. The post link already given has some excellent instructions.
