SAM
Keep getting this error when trying to launch SAM:
A SAM internal error has occurred. Check the SAM log file using the
Options menu or the /usr/sam/bin/samlog_viewer command for more
details on the failure. Contact an HP support representative and
provide them with the contents of the log file (/var/sam/log/samlog)
so that an appropriate resolution to this problem can be provided.
And this is what I get when I look at samlog_viewer:
Error Code: 5000 ^
| ===== Fri May 7 15:29:58 2010 Entering SAM area "System |
| Administration Manager (spbe013a)". |
| ERROR An infrastructural error message for [error code 80054, |
| location ../prod4/Roseville/intermed/arch_scan.C:721] was not |
| found in the internal error table. |
| Location: arch_err_handler.C:256
| Error Code: 5000
---------------
I saw a previous discussion that it could be a patch issues. Is that so? Help :)

Re: SAM
Possibly, what HP-UX version do you have? Do you have the latest SAM patches?
If that doesn't work, you should contact the Response Center.

Re: SAM
Try swconfig then sam again:
# swconfig \*
If you continue to get the error, copy a clean set of the sam files back over to /etc/sam:
# cd /etc/sam
# mv reg_da.db reg_da.db.old
# mv reg_files.db reg_files.db.old
# mv reg_tm.db reg_tm.db.old
# cp -p /usr/newconfig/etc/sam/reg* /etc/sam
