Re: SAMBA/CIFS

To see what is installed (assuming HP's CIFS version is installed):

swlist -l product CIFS-Server CIFS-Client

Latest versions can be found on http://software.hp.com/. Search for CIFS.

Re: SAMBA/CIFS

well i get,
CIFS-Client A.01.09 CIFS Client
CIFS-Server A.01.09.04 CIFS/9000 (Samba) File and Print
Services

when i search for cifs version. I tried removing them with gui but couldnt find it in swremove GUI. what would be the command line to remove this old version or do i need to remove it inorder to install a new version???

Re: SAMBA/CIFS

With that version, it's probably an 11.11 system. The CIFS software was buried in HPUX11i-OE.

Re: SAMBA/CIFS

you can also use the start/stop scripts to get the version

smbstatus

run the test/check against your smb.conf

testparm /etc/samba/smb.conf

samba -version
snbd -v
nmbd -v
