SAMBA share not available when reaching virtual address

Hi all,
I have SAMBA share defined on 11.31.
There are several IPs/hosts defined on the server - among others there are two virtual IPs/hosts defined on virtual LAN interfaces: lan2:1 and lan2:2.
Evertyhing is working fine when connecting from windows machines to the server's hostname itself (lan0). However when trying connect via hostnames defined on virtual LAN inetrfaces I am getting following response on windows machine:

"The specified server cannot perform the requested operation."

NOTE: on lan2, there are plumbed/up just lan2:1 and lan2:2, not lan2 itself. Virtual hostnames/IPs are standardly pingable/reachable on the network.
